Market Schedule

Darksome is both a virtual and physical market. The annual in-person Halloween market will be held in October at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA. Virtual markets are expected to take place 4x per year. Check out the full schedule here.

Content of Your Art

You cannot sell any work that is racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist or prejudiced in any way. This is an inclusive market and hate will not be tolerated. If you work is found to be within those categories, you will be asked to pack up and leave and no refunds will be given.

Reselling

THIS IS A HANDMADE MARKET. THERE IS NO RESELLING. You are not allowed to sell anything that you did not make. If you have something for sale on your table or on your website that you did not make, such as an antique, a new item you are reselling or another artist’s work, you will be asked to remove it from your sales table at physical markets or your website for digital markets.

You must design the items you are selling OR design AND manufacture them.

Plagiarism

Anyone who has directly copied/stolen another artists work and claims it as their own will not be welcome to vend at the market. If a vendor has been accepted and the organizer discovers any sort of work has been copied, Darksome has the right to bar the vendor from selling at the market.

Waitlist & Rejection Notices

If you are not accepted for the market, don’t fret. So far the number of booth spaces at the venues have varied from 30-100 and unfortunately there isn’t always space for everyone. Smaller shows will be more tightly curated than larger ones. Therefore, you have a greater chance of getting into the larger shows.

Only those vendors who applied by the deadline, (and were not initially accepted) may be added to the waitlist.

Cancellation Policy

Virtual markets:

No Refunds

Physical markets:

If you cancel within 1 month of the event, you will not receive a refund due to the proximity of the event and there are NO exceptions. If you cancel 1-3 months before the event, you can receive a partial refund for half of the paid booth fee.

Booth Sharing

*Physical markets only

Booth sharing is allowed at some of the markets. It will be stated on the application if it is allowed. When it is allowed, no more than 2 people may split a booth.

Selling Your Space

*Physical markets only

YOU CANNOT DO THIS. This is a carefully curated market. You may not sell your booth to a random person. All booth placements must be done through Darksome and the application channel.

Weather

*Physical markets only

Darksome has some outdoor events. Unfortunately, we can’t control the weather. Outdoor markets happen RAIN OR SHINE. In the case of severe weather, such as thunderstorms, markets will have a rain date. Typically with Saturday markets, the rain date will be the following weekend.

Pennsylvania Sales Tax

*Physical markets only

If you sell taxable goods, you are responsible for collecting and reporting Pennsylvania sales & use tax. Darksome Events LLC is not responsible. PA sales tax is 6%. Philadelphia sales tax is 8%, Pittsburgh sales tax is 7%
